Kathmandu Photographer Association (KPA) is delighted to announce the KPA Photo Walk & Photo Competition 2025 on the occasion of the 186th World Photography Day. This year’s program will be held at the World Heritage Site – Patan Durbar Square, Lalitpur on 3rd Bhadra 2082 (19th August 2025).
This exciting event, titled “Compositions with Monuments,” invites photographers to explore the beauty of heritage and creativity through the art of composition.
Rules for Photo Contest
The theme of the photo contest is 'Rules of Composition'.
Photographers have to compose their photograph based on any one of the following rules of composition:
Leading lines/Converging lines
Diagonals
Rule of odds
Symmetry
If you are submitting more than one photograph, each photograph can be based on a different rule.
In the caption mention the composition rule that you selected for the photograph.
The photographs have to be taken on 19th August 2025 between 7:00 am and 1:00 pm and the EXIF data should reflect this. Make sure that the date and time of your camera is set properly and that you don’t remove the EXIF data while submitting the photograph.
Participants may submit up to two photographs.
The photographs should be in Lossless JPEG format at the highest quality setting and a minimum resolution of 3000 pixels on the longer side.

“KPA Photo Walk Submission.”
Include your full name and contact information in the email.
Copyright and Usage
By submitting your photos, you grant KPA the rights to use, display, and share your photos in whole or in part, in any form, for promotional purposes. Photos will not be sold or used for commercial purposes without the photographer’s permission.

KPA Members: Free
Freelancers/Others: Rs. 500 only
